Project Quant: Document and Update Configuration Changes

In the age of compliance, the job isn't finished until it's fully documented. Okay, that's probably always been true, but you are talking to a guy who got a D in FORTRAN because, despite completing all my programming assignments, I sort of never documented them (50% of the grade).

There are two kinds of documentation in this phase:

  • Documenting the successful patch deployment (that systems are patched and up to date).
  • Documenting any configuration standard changes.

As with all the other phases, this is merely my first attempt and it could use feedback.

This also concludes all the detailed steps of the various phases of the patch management cycle. Our next step is to convert this into the metrics model, and I expect a fair bit may change in that process.
